Comment: Hi, this is a strange request. I live in Canada and am trying to research my "English roots" for a family tree. Upon sorting through some of my grandfather's papers I have found an envelope he used to save papers in. This envelope was from someone named "Attenborough" and the address reads "Fourfields, Tebworth Road, Hockliffe, L/B, Beds, England". I think the postal ink stamp reads 79 for the year 1979. The postage adds up to 65p. I have also found a "J. Attenborough" listed in his little phone book with the same address, however, instead of "L/B" it says "Exc-Leighton Buzzard", which brought me here. The phone number is "0525) 210-804".
I have a lost link in my family on my grandmother's side and I wonder if this might be it. My grandmother had a sister Hannah HOPPS (nee: WALKER) who my grandfather continued to keep in contact with after my grandmother's death. Hannah had a daughter, Jean, and I wonder if "J. Attenborough" could be Jean. Hannah died in 1979 and I would really like to contact Jean or her descendants to fill in the gaps in our tree.
If there is anyone who could help in anyway or offer advice, please email me at julietypes@telus.net.
Thank you!
Julie

Comment: I am researching my King family history and have found Leigton B. connections. My Gt.gt.gt Uncle William King owned the Battlesden Steam Coach Works in the High Street. He according to his advertisement was of world wide renown for his vehicles and won medals for them. Does anyone know of him or the business? or where abouts?
His widow in 1891 lived at 165 Stoke Rd, but I can't find it, any ideas?
Thanks Andrew
