Comment: A great archive. I am a direct descendent of HOPKINS family, butchers in Leighton in the 19th century, and interested in piecing together some of the early family history

Comment: I found your site while doing research into the family of George Whiting, born in Wolverton, Bucks in 1833/4, who married Sarah E Pyne in Leighton Buzzard on 3 September 1856, and lived ther until his death, thought to be the result of an accident at work, on 25 May 1869.
I wish you success with this project. When you reach 1869, please let me know.

Comment: Looking desperately for any articles announcements of:
Jane Hart[maiden] Parrott
William Parrott b. Oct 1867 Leighton [around b1868
William b. Oct 1867 left England in 1880-1881 on a mail boat to Montreal, Canada at age 14. We are trying to find out any info on the family above etc. We are coming over to England in June and would like to research further, but want to find out any info beforehand. If there is a criminal record in the 1881. He always said that he changed his name from Parrott to Barrett. So we are searching for his native town and family with what we know...his parents were James and Jane Hart. He always listed London as his birth place but from records in Ancestry.com looks as though the best match for dates etc is the Parrott name.
Thanks for anything, you may find in your newspapers from 1867-1881.

Comment: Great site ! Thank you for what you are doing. I'm researching my Brandham/Brandom family line of Eaton Bray and Leighton Buzzard. My gggg grandfather was John Brandham, a straw dealer in Eaton Bray. His wife's name was Elizabeth. They had several children; one of whom, also named John, was my 3rd great grandfather. I would be very pleased to share information with any Brandham relative who might be interested and helpful. Thank you.
