In the name of God Amen I Alice Coles of Billington in the parish of Laighton Bussard in the County of Bedford Widdowe, sick in bodie but in good and perfect remembrannce Thanks bee give to God for it Doe make and ordayne this my last will and Testam[en]t in manner and forme followinge First and principally I give and bequeath my immortall Soule into the handes of Almightie God my Maker Trustinge assuredlie in and through the Death and merrittes of the Lord Jesus Christ my only Savyour and Redeemer to have eternall and everlastinge life in the Kingdome of heaven. And my bodie I Committ unto the Earth from whence it came and to buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named, And as for and concerninge my temporall Estate which it hath pleased God to blesse mee with all as shall bee hereafter expressed That is to saie, That whereas my Father Thomas Francklin by his last will and Testament did give unto my Sonne Edward Coles Fyve poundes of lawfull money of England. And whereas Edward Coles my husband by his last will and Testament did give unto my aforesaid Sonne Edward Coles Thirtie poundes of like lawfull money All which Thirtie fyve poundes still remayneth in my handes And my will is That my Executor shall paie the aforesaid Fyve and Thirtie poundes of lawfull money unto my said Sonne Edward Coles or to whome hee shall appointe w[i]thin Two monethes after my decease And to paie considerac[i]ons for the said Thirtie fyve poundes from his age of Sixteene yeares Provided they or he give my Executor a sufficient discharge for the receipt of the said Thirtie fyve poundes. Item I give unto my aforesaid Sonne Edward Coles Tenn poundes of lawfull money of England to bee paid to him by my Executor when he shall accomplish the age of one and Twentie yeares. Item I give unto my said Sonne Edward Coles one ioyned beddstedd which standeth in the outer lofte and one Courte Cupboard, one paire of Blanckettes which use to lye uppon, my bedd. Two paire of hempen sheetes, one flock boulster, the best I have, one feather pillowe, one brasse pott a paire of potthookes, a pewter platter. Item I give unto my Daughter Joane the wife of Gabriell Lewese one Feather bedd, one feather boulster, my best Coverlett, my biggest Kettle but one, and my least oken Cofer, one white Blanckett one paire of sheetes, and a holland pillows beere, one pewter platter and one olde Cupboard. Item I give unto Sarah Townesend my Daughter Fower poundes of good and lawfull money of England To be paid unto her by my Executor w[i]thin one whole yeare after my decease And further I give unto my said Daughter Sarah, one ioyned Beddstedd, one pewter platter, my little Tubb, one barrell Two milke Bowles, one Cushion, one Cradle, one little Table standinge in the lofte, a little forme in the lofte, one woollen wheele and a lynnen wheele Two greene Aprons a pott hanger, one greene stuffe Petticoate and Two handkerchers, [the next section is struck through but a note in the margin says 'sic orile.'] A straw bedd...? flagg matt Item whereas my sonne Thomas Townsend doth owe mee five poundes of lawfull money of England my will is that he shall paie fower poundes of lawfull money unto my Executor w[i]thin two yeares after my decease. Item I give unto my sonne Thomas Townsend Twentie shillinges of Currant money w[hi]ch is in his hand already beinge the remainder of the said five poundes. [end of the struck through section] Item I give unto Jane the wife of my said sonne Thomas Townesend one Cushion one Mault Mill one longe ladder, my hovell and my thrashing planckes, a paire of harrowes, All the rest of my goodes and Chattelles unbequeathed my debtes and legacies paid and discharged and my bodie decently buryed, I doe give and bequeath unto Thomas Townsend my sonne whome I doe make and ordayne my full and whole Executor of this my last will and Testam[en]t. In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the daie and yeare first above written Alse Coles her marke.
