In the name of God Amen I Stephen Martin of Laighton
Bussard in the County of Bedford Butcher being sick in body but
of perfect memory praised bee God doe make my last will and Testament
in manner and Forme Following. Imprimis I bequeath my soule into
the hands of Almighty God who gave it mee hopeing onely through
the merritts of Jesus Christ to obtaine eternall life; And my body
I bequeath to the earth to bee decently buried att the discretion
of my Executrix hereafter named, And as for such worldly goods
as God hath blessed me withall I dispose as Followeth. Imprimis
I give to my daughter Mary now wife of Richard Baker of London
Haberdasher the sume of Fiftie pounds to bee paid within three
monthes after my decease Item I give to my Grandchild Richard Baker
the sume of Twenty pounds of lawfull English money to bee paid
him att the age of one and twenty yeares, and in the meane time
to putt out by my Executrix to the Advantage of the said Child
and the benifitt thereof to redownd and accrewe and to bee paid
and accounted for unto the said Child att his said age of one and
twenty years Item I give to Joseph Jeffes the younger the sume
of Forty Shillings and to the other foure Children of Joseph Jeffes
the elder to each of them tenne shillings of lawfull English money
to bee paid within three monthes after my decease, Item I give
to Mary Gurney my maid the sume of Forty Shillings to bee paid
as aforesaid All the rest of my goods and Chattells unbequeathed
my debts and legacies being paid and my Funerall Expences discharged
I give and bequeath to Mary Martin my beloved wife whom I make
sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In witnes where
of I have here unto putt and sett my hand and seale this Fifteenth
day of September in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand six
